Apple Butter Chutney

Apple butter chutney in a square small bowl.

The easiest no cook and my favorite chutney, apple butter chutney, which needs no tamarind. It is sweet and spicy with its main component from apples, apple butter! No prep time needed, just mixing!

Make this chutney to go with many Indian dishes such as samosas, chaats, dabeli, vada pav, pani puri to name a few. It replaces the need for tamarind chutney, and it just may become your favorite too.

Growing up, this was one of the three staple chutneys my Mom made and always had on hand. It was one of the “hacks” she found to making a no cook chutney. Give apple butter chutney a try!

  • Very simple to make – just mix ingredients in a bowl
  • Versatile – goes with many Indian dishes and even with global cuisines – try it on a cheese board or with Samosa-dillas!
  • Tangy, sweet and spicy – hits all the notes!
