Equipment

  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 knife
  • 1 large bowl

Ingredients

Fresh Ingredients

  • 1 orange peeled, chopped
  • 6 strawberries chopped
  • ½ cup pineapples I used canned (no sugar added)
  • 1 kiwi peeled, chopped
  • 1 apple chopped
  • 1 grapefruit peeled, chopped
  • 10 mint leaves chopped

Spices

  • 2 tsp Chaat masala
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp red chili powder (I went up to 1/2 tsp, adjust to your heat preference)
  • ½ tsp black salt optional, dependent on preference (taste and adjust)

Instructions

  • Cut the fruit into similar size pieces. I like peeling the skin off of the oranges and grapefruits but it isn’t necessary.
  • Place chopped fruit in a large bowl. Toss with half of the spice powders and chopped mint leaves toss. Then put the other half and toss again to evenly spread it throughout the fruit.

Notes

You can use any fresh fruits. Make it colorful for nice presentation.
Recommend tossing the fruit with spices prior to serving.
Fruit chaat can be refrigerated but note it will become a little watery as it sits and juice from the fruits release.
Chaat masala can be made at home or found at your local Indian grocery store.
