Delicious Chocolate Chai (Tea)
Chocolate chai (tea) is the perfect drink to cozy up to which a spicy flavor from chai spice and rich cocoa flavor. Ready in a few minutes with black tea, few spices, sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder.

- 1½ cup water
- 2 tsp loose black tea or tea bag equivalent` I use Wagh Bakri brand.
- 3 tsp sugar adjust to your preference
- 1 cup milk I used 2%. Feel free to use whole milk or plant based milk.
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder
- ⅛ tsp ginger powder
- 1½ tsp cocoa powder
Place water, sugar, cardamom powder, ginger powder, and loose leaf tea or tea bags in a pot on medium-high heat on the stove.
Let it come to a simmer and rolling boil for about 3-4 minutes.
Add milk and cocoa powder to the hot water. Let it come to a boil. Turn to medium heat.
Let simmer for 5-6 minutes. Turn off stove.
Strain tea with a tea strainer and serve.
Note, I tried to balance the chai flavor and chocolate. Feel free to add a little bit more spice, use masala chai or additional fresh flavors like ginger and make it yours.
