Easy Imli Chutney With Khajur (for chaats, samosa etc.)

Sweet and tangy khajur imli chutney (imli ki chatni) is a tamarind date chutney great for chaat, samosas and many Indian appetizers. In Gujarati, it is called amli khajur ni chutney.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dates 298 g
  • 3 tbsp jaggery powder
  • 3 tsp tamarind puree
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder lal mirch
  • 1 tsp cumin coriander powder dhana jeeru
  • cup water adjust to get consistency you prefer

Instructions

  • Soak dates in water atleast 30 minutes. Save the water to use in chutney to add back in last step.
    Soaked dates in water in a bowl.
  • Drain dates and blend into smooth puree. Add tamarind puree.
    Blended dates with tamarind puree in a food processor.
  • Add spices. Blend to smooth paste.
    Spices added to imli ki chutney mixture.
  • Add water from soaked dates in step 1 and adjust to achieve the consistency you prefer.
