Rose Chai (Tea) With Rose Petals

Rose chai or rose tea is an easy-to-make, delicious masala chai with notes of floral from rose water and rose petals.  Cozy up to this drink made in just a few minutes.

Equipment

  • 1 Pot
  • 1 tea strainer

Ingredients

  • cup water
  • 2 tsp tea leaves I use Wagh Bakri. Can also use tea bags.
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp chai spice powder
  • 1 tbsp rose petals (food grade), substitute ½ tsp rose water if you don't have it½
  • cup milk milk or choice, can substitute dairy free milk
  • 2 tsp rose water dependent on brand and strength of rose water you can adjust by adding ½ tsp extra if needed

Instructions

  • Place water, sugar, chai spice powder, rose petals and loose leaf tea or tea bags in a pot on medium-high heat on the stove.

  • Let it come to a simmer and rolling boil for about 3-4 minutes.

  • Add milk to the hot water. Let it come to a boil. Turn to medium heat.

  • Let simmer for 6-7 minutes. Turn off stove.
  • Add rose water and stir.

  • Strain tea with a tea strainer and serve.
