Other ingredients will vary based on the type of ladoo you are making such as Chocolate Ladoo, Strawberry Ladoo, Vanilla Ladoo, Rose Coconut Ladoo, etc.

Variations

There are so many ways to make this delicious instant coconut ladoo recipe. Some variations of this quick recipe require a few minutes of cooking:

Fresh coconut: Toast coconut on low heat. Add in condensed milk and cook to a thick paste.  Cool to room temperature before forming balls.

Coconut ladoos on parchment paper.

Making vegan

To make vegan coconut ladoos, just replace the condensed milk with dairy-free condensed milk.  I recommend oat condensed milk.

Pro Tips

Place the ladoos on parchment paper and place them in the fridge to help them set quicker.

If you put too much desiccated coconut, you will get a dry ladoo.  This results in a choking-type feeling when eating them.  So, adjust to your liking but be careful not to add too much coconut.

FAQs

Can I use fresh coconut?

Yes, you can use fresh coconut to make coconut ladoos.  The fresh coconut should be grated.  The grated coconut will then need to be roasted stovetop to reduce the amount of moisture. It should only take a few minutes and you will notice a nice aroma once lightly toasted.

How to use dry coconut flakes?

If you have bigger coconut flakes you can just blend a few times to make a coarse, medium desiccated coconut consistency.

Storage

Store in an airtight container for 1 to 2 weeks.
